Job summary

Ford and Slater are a leading UK DAF Truck dealer group with 16 locations and over 850 staff. We have an exciting night-shift HGV Technician role at our Newark depot.

You will service and repair a wide range of trucks, perform fault diagnostics, MOT preparation, and routine servicing. Full UK driving licence is required. Hours are 9:15pm–6:45am, Monday to Friday, with excellent training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience as an HGV Technician / Mechanic in HGV or related sectors.
• Qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair preferred.
• Time served HGV Technician acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and maintaining a wide variety of Trucks and Vehicles.
• Fault Diagnostics and MOT Preparation.
• Mechanical and Electrical repairs according to procedures.
• Road test as required and complete job cards and service records.
• Attend technical or development training when available.

We currently have an exciting position as an HGV Technician in the fantastic team at our DAF Trucks Depot in Newark. As an HGV Technician on nightshift,we can offer you:

Who are we looking for:

• You will have previous experience working as an HGV Technician / Mechanic within the HGV, Commercial Vehicle, LGV, PSV, Heavy Plant, Car or an associated sector.
• Ideally have a qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Or a time served HGV Technician.
• Ability to participate in breakdowns.
• Skills to follow company processes for completing all paperwork including accurate completion of job cards and service records.
• General level of computer literacy is advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence.

The HGV Technician role / responsibilities include (but not limited to):

Servicing and maintaining a wide variety of Trucks and Vehicles. Fault Diagnostics. MOT Preparation. Mechanical and Electrical repairs. Ensure repairs are carried out according to manufacturer’s procedures and in a safe and responsible manner. Road test vehicle when required, subject to licence restrictions. Attend any technical or development training that is made available. Working Monday to Friday 9:15pm – 6:45am.
