Job summary

NRG Riverside Ltd. in Leeds is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to work nights on a full-time, on-site basis. You will service, maintain and repair HGVs and other commercial vehicles, diagnose faults and carry out routine inspections.

The role runs 44 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 18:00-06:00, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch, and offers a competitive salary of £50,667.76 plus up to £3,000 annual bonus, plus pension, life cover and wellbeing benefits.

Qualifications

• HGV technical qualification such as NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds.
• Experience as a HGV Technician, Mechanic or Fleet Engineer.
• Experience with RCVs or municipal vehicles preferred.
• Experience with tachographs and wheel alignment.
• Class 2 licence preferred.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety.
• Customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintenance and repair on HGVs and commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose faults and perform repairs; conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Attend breakdowns and perform tachos, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic repairs.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT and complete CV/MOT inspections and paperwork.

What will you be doing?

• As a HGV Technician you will be responsible for servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs / commercial vehicles; diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs, as well as carrying out routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
• You will also be responsible for attending breakdowns, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic repairs, as well as Tacho calibrations, repairs and wheel alignment.
• You will prepare vehicles for MOT and carry out commercial vehicle / HGV MOT inspections, while makings sure paperwork completed and up to date.

What are we looking for?

• A HGV technical qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent
• Experience as a HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, HGV Engineer or Fleet Engineer
• Experience with RCVs or municipal vehicles would be a bonus.
• Experience with tacho and wheel alignment as well as commercial vehicle repairs
