Job summary

The Leeds Depot of a well-established vehicle rental specialist is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join the workshop team. You will inspect, service, and repair commercial vehicles to manufacturer standards, and report findings to the Workshop Manager.

This role offers Monday–Friday, 07:00–17:00, pension, free parking, onsite facilities and a profit share scheme after qualifying period. Salary is circa £53,000 per annum.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in mechanical engineering or time served as HGV technician
• IRTEC accreditation preferred
• Strong experience as an HGV technician
• Knowledge of cranes or hydraulics advantageous
• Experience on tippers, tipper grabs or beaver tails
• Knowledge of latest diagnostic systems
• License: Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (C); car license holders considered

Responsibilities

• Inspect and service routines, perform repairs to manufacturer standards
• Diagnose faults and report findings to Workshop Manager
• Carry out repairs and maintenance on fleet; order parts as needed
• Work to set deadlines and maintain safety and quality standards

Our client is a well-established company and are specialists in commercial vehicle rental. The Business has 5 rental depots, with modern, fully equipped workshops in the North and South of England.

Due to expansion our client are looking to hire at their Leeds Depot.

The role of HGV Technician will involve being responsible for carrying out inspection and service routines, general repairs and maintenance of vehicles in a professional and safe manner.

The HGV Technician will be reporting to the Workshop Manager and will be able to investigate and diagnose faults, report findings and be able to carry out all repairs to the current manufacturer's standards.

Essential Criteria

• You must have Mechanical Qualifications such as City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or be time served preferably with an IRTEC accreditation
• Strong Experience as a HGV Technician

The role offers a wide variety of work and so it would be advantageous for you to possess these skills:

• Knowledge of cranes or hydraulics
• Experience working on tippers, tipper grabs or beaver tails
• Knowledge of latest diagnostic systems
• Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (C) HGV License (Car License Holders will also be considered)

In addition the company offers a non-contractual profit share scheme that you would be enrolled into after initial qualifying period
