Job summary

Silcom Recruitment is supporting a well-established business in Exeter to recruit an experienced HGV Technician for a stable, rewarding career in a professional workshop. You will service, inspect and repair heavy goods vehicles, diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, complete job cards, and assist with MOTs.

The role operates on a 4 on / 4 off, 12-hour shift pattern with bonus, overtime and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Qualified HGV Technician with Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
• Experience in servicing, diagnostics and repairs.
• HGV licence desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Complete job cards, service sheets and keep records.

The Role:

Silcom Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established, respected, and forward-thinking business in their search for an HGV Technician. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and skilled HGV Technician seeking a stable, rewarding career within a professional and progressive workshop environment, located in Exeter.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

• Carry out routine servicing, inspections, maintenance, and repairs on a range of heavy goods vehicles to the highest standard.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults efficiently.
• Work to manufacturer and industry guidelines ensuring all work is completed to a safe and professional standard.
• Complete job cards, service sheets, and maintain accurate records.
• Assist with MOT preparations and ensure vehicles meet compliance standards.
• Ensure the workshop environment is kept safe, clean, and compliant at all times.
• Previous experience as a qualified HGV Technician is essential, with a recognised Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
• A valid HGV licence is desirable but not essential.

The Package:

£22.00 per hour + bonus & overtime available.

Hours - 4 on / 4 off shift pattern. 12-hour shifts (6:30am - 6:30pm). + overtime available.
