Job summary

Gap Technical Ltd is seeking an HGV Technician to join their Bristol-area facility on nights. You will maintain HGV fleets, diagnose faults, and complete breakdowns and reactive work to tight timelines, ensuring first-time fixes where possible.

The ideal candidate will have a Class 1 licence (preferable), excellent communication, and the ability to work unsupervised in a fast-paced distribution environment. Irtec training is a plus and may be supported after long service.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining the company's HGVs.
• Ensuring all work is completed on time and in line with manufacturer guidelines.
• Carrying out breakdowns and reactive works to high standards within the given timeframe.
• Accurately diagnose electrical and mechanical faults with the HGVs and communicate technical information to teammates.
• Escalate issues to relevant managers as needed.
• Accurately document all work.
• Demonstrate good diagnostic and fault-finding skills to achieve first-time fix.

Performance Objectives

• Responsible for maintaining the company's HGVs.
• Ensuring that all work is completed on time and in compliance with manufacturer guidelines.
• Responsible for carrying out all breakdowns and reactive works to high standards and within the given timeframe.
• You should be able to accurately diagnose electrical and mechanical faults with the HGVs, communicate technical information to your teammates, and escalation any issues to relevant managers.
• You should also possess a keen eye for detail and ensure that all work is accurately documented.
• Additionally, you'll demonstrate good diagnostic and fault-finding skills ensuring first-time fix.

Person Specification

• Ideally a Class 1 Licence
