Job summary

Volvo Group is opening applications for HGV Technician Apprenticeships starting in 2027 at Lancaster Way, Ely. You will train on modern trucks and buses, gain hands-on experience, and undertake IMI qualifications through Inspiro Heavy Vehicle Academy in Derby.

The program includes 18 blocks, college release, and a dedicated Development Coach to support progression and learning throughout the 32-month apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Enthusiastic individuals with a strong interest in heavy vehicles.
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems and a desire to learn.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist with repairs carried out to Volvo Standard Times using Volvo Special Tools.
• Assist in fault diagnosis and learn warranty procedures.
• Work with parts team to ensure correct replacement parts are fitted.
• Learn to use Volvo special tools safely and efficiently.
• Attend college courses and complete the IMI qualifications.
• Support workshop operations and maintain accurate job cards.
