Job summary

Biffa Waste - Manchester Depot is seeking an HGV Technician with a strong focus on maintenance and repair of a diverse fleet, including 44t assets. The role includes scheduled servicing to meet DVSA rules and operator licence commitments, with a view to upskill and progress within a large national waste-management group.

The position offers a joining bonus and shift patterns from early to late, with overtime and call-out opportunities.

Qualifications

• Full Level 3 HGV/PSV apprenticeship qualification or City & Guilds/NVQ equivalent.
• Must have minimum of a car/van driving licence.
• HGV licence is desirable.
• IRTEC qualification is desirable.
• Technician level status or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair vehicles and waste management equipment to meet health and safety and DVSA requirements.
• Carry out scheduled preventative servicing and inspections to meet operator licences.
