Job summary

Boughey Distribution Limited is seeking an experienced HGV/LGV Technician to join our Warrington workshop, replacing a long-serving colleague. You will maintain, inspect and repair our LGV fleet to DVSA standards, ensuring roadworthiness and peak performance.

Fully qualified (NVQ Level 3 or IRTEC) with proven workshop experience and strong diagnostic skills. A UK driving licence is required; C&E is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified HGV/LGV Technician (NVQ Level 3 or IRTEC).
• Proven experience working with LGVs in a workshop environment.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills and knowledge of diagnostics tools.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine safety inspections, servicing, all repairs, and defect rectification to any vehicle or trailer to DVSA standards.
• Accurately complete all maintenance and repair record sheets.
• Use diagnostic equipment and technical manuals efficiently.
• Work in a professional, logical, and safe manner at all times, keeping the work area safe, clean, and tidy.

Day to Day

What will you bring?

• Fully qualified HGV / LGV Technician (NVQ Level 3 or IRTEC)


• Proven experience working with LGVs in a workshop environment


• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills


• Knowledge of modern vehicle electronics and diagnostic tools


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team


• A full UK driving licence (C&E License advantageous but not essential)


• Ability to adhere to strict maintenance schedules and deadlines


• Possess strong attention to detail and able to complete relevant paperwork and documentation
