Job summary

Boughey Logistics is seeking an experienced HGV/LGV Technician to maintain, inspect and repair our fleet, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance. You will join a dynamic workshop and replace a retiring colleague, bringing pride in high-quality mechanical work and problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified HGV/LGV technician with NVQ Level 3 or IRTEC.
• Proven LGV workshop experience and strong diagnostics ability.
• UK driving licence held; ability to work to DVSA standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine safety inspections, servicing and repairs to DVSA standards.
• Accurately complete maintenance and repair records.
• Use diagnostic equipment and manuals efficiently.
• Work professionally, safely and tidy in the workshop.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and motivated HGV/ LGV Technician to join our dynamic workshop team to replace our colleague who is retiring after many years of service. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, inspection, and repair of our fleet of LGVs to ensure they remain roadworthy, compliant, and operating at peak performance.

Day to Day

• Carry out routine safety inspections, servicing, all repairs and defect rectification to any vehicle or trailer to DVSA standards.
• Accurately complete all maintenance and repair record sheets.
• Use diagnostic equipment and technical manuals efficiently.
• Work in a professional, logical and safe manner at all time, keeping the work area safe, clean and tidy.

What will you bring?

• Fully qualified HGV / LGV Technician (NVQ Level 3 or IRTEC).
• Proven experience working with LGVs in a workshop environment.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of modern vehicle electronics and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A full UK driving licence (C&E License advantageous but not essential).
• Ability to adhere to strict maintenance schedules and deadlines.
• Possess strong attention to detail and able to complete relevant paperwork and documentation.
