Job summary

Interaction Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy workshop in Widness. You will service, repair and inspect a varied fleet of HGVs, vans and trailers to keep them safe and compliant. The role requires NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair and relevant HGV experience.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Previous experience as HGV Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
• Experience carrying out vehicle inspections and MOT preparation.
• Mercedes-Benz trucks experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Comfortable using workshop management and online job recording systems.
• Ability to work independently and in a busy workshop team.
• Excellent organisation, detail orientation and safety standards.
• HGV Class 1 licence is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs, vans and trailers.
• Conduct vehicle inspections, identify defects and complete required repairs.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and electronic faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections and present for testing when required.
• Complete all work to manufacturer specifications and company standards.
• Record inspections, repairs and parts usage accurately using digital job systems.
• Communicate repair requirements and progress updates to workshop management.
• Ensure all vehicles are thoroughly checked before returning to service.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.

Salary: £45,760-£54,000 + Overtime Available

Shifts: 4 on 4 off, days or nights
