Job summary

Carbon60 is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join our busy workshop team in London HA0 area. You'll maintain and repair a modern fleet of commercial vehicles and plant equipment, performing diagnostics, servicing and MOT preparation to ensure fleet reliability and compliance.

This hands-on role requires fault-finding across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, with opportunities for on-going training and career progression in a stable operation.

Qualifications

• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent is desirable.
• Experience working on HGVs and plant equipment.
• HGV licence advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, servicing and repairs on HGVs and associated plant equipment.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve vehicle issues efficiently.
• Complete HGV MOT inspections, preparation and associated remedial work.
• Attend breakdowns and carry out roadside repairs when required.
• Accurately complete job cards, inspection reports and maintenance records.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with industry standards.
• Support workshop operations and contribute to maintaining high fleet availability.

HGV Technician

Location: HA0 Area

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday

We are looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy workshop team responsible for maintaining and repairing a modern fleet of commercial vehicles and plant equipment.

This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll work across a range of vehicles, carrying out diagnostics, repairs, servicing and MOT preparation to ensure fleet reliability and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, servicing and repairs on HGVs and associated plant equipment.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.

About You

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician, Vehicle Technician or Mechanical Fitter.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience working on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent is desirable.
• HGV licence advantageous but not essential.
• A proactive approach to maintenance, safety and quality of work.
