Job summary

Hartshorne Group in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking skilled HGV Technicians to diagnose faults, service and repair Volvo trucks to exacting standards. You will ensure accurate documentation and work with a supportive team in a fully equipped workshop.

We offer day and night shifts with alternate weeks and call-out rota, opportunities for training, a competitive pension and healthcare plan, and holidays that increase with length of service.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds Part 1 & 2 / BTEC / IMI in motor vehicle management (or equivalent).
• HGV licence advantageous but not essential.
• Experience in fault diagnosis, servicing and repairs to Volvo standards.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and perform servicing and repairs to high standards.
• Accurately complete repair orders and service reports.
• Work in a fast-paced workshop with a focus on customer service and quality.

Recruiting for HGV technicians to join our fantastic team at Potteries.

The Role:

Join our team as a skilled HGV Technician, where you’ll be responsible for fault diagnosis, servicing, and repairs in line with Volvo’s high standards. You’ll ensure all documentation is completed accurately, including repair orders, service reports, and production cards. We are looking for individuals who thrive under pressure and actively seeks solutions to technical challenges. Strong verbal communication skills and a commitment to exceptional customer service are essential.

Day Shift:

• Alternate weeks
• Week One: Monday – Friday: 06.00am until 14.00pm
• Week Two: Monday – Friday: 14.00pm until 22.00pm
• Alternate Saturday mornings
• Call out rota

Night Shift:

• Alternate weeks: Monday – Thursday / Tuesday – Friday (10 hour shift).

Requirements:

Qualifications required City & Guilds part 1 & 2 / BTEC / IMI in motor vehicle management (or equivalent) or equivalent practical experience in the commercial vehicle industry (or similar environment). HGV licence advantageous but not essential.
