Job summary

Crossroads Truck & Bus Ltd, the Volvo Truck and Bus specialists across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, is recruiting an HGV Technician to join our Rotherham depot. You’ll diagnose faults, service and repair trucks and buses to Volvo standards, and ensure all repair orders and service reports are completed accurately.

We offer a 42-hour week with 4 on/4 off shifts, including night duties (Tue-Thu 18:00–06:00 and Fri 18:00–02:00), 23 days holiday, a fully equipped workshop, loyalty bonuses, tool

Qualifications

• Qualifications required City & Guilds part 1 & 2 / BTEC / IMI in motor vehicle management (or equivalent).
• HGV Licence advantageous but not essential.
• Experience in the commercial vehicle industry is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Fault diagnosis, servicing and repairs to Volvo standards.
• Complete repair orders and service reports accurately.
• Communicate effectively with customers and team to resolve issues.

Crossroads Truck & Bus Ltd is the Volvo Truck and Bus specialists across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. We provide a total transport solution for the industry, from new trucks to used trucks, and parts and servicing for trucks, buses and trailers.

Recruiting for HGV Technician to join our fantastic team at our Rotherham depot.

Various Shifts Available

• 4 on 4 off rolling shift pattern
• Straight days Monday to Friday.
• Alternate weeks: early / late shift

Nights

• Tuesday – Thursday: 18:00pm – 06:00am
• Friday – 18:00pm – 02:00am (early finish on a Friday to get your weekend back!!)

• 42 hour working week
• 23 days holiday

The Role

Join our team as a skilled HGV Technician, where you’ll be responsible for fault diagnosis, servicing, and repairs in line with Volvo’s high standards. You’ll ensure all documentation is completed accurately, including repair orders, service reports, and production cards. We are looking for individuals who thrive under pressure and actively seeks solutions to technical challenges. Strong verbal communication skills and a commitment to exceptional customer service are essential.

HGV Technician Requirements

• Qualifications required City & Guilds part 1 & 2 / BTEC / IMI in motor vehicle management (or equivalent) or equivalent practical experience in the commercial vehicle industry. HGV Licence advantageous but not essential.
