Job summary

Hartshorne Group in Walsall is hiring an HGV Technician for our brand new depot. You will diagnose faults, service and repair heavy goods vehicles to Volvo standards, maintaining accurate documentation and a focus on customer service.

A City & Guilds/BTEC/IMI in motor vehicle management or equivalent experience is preferred; HGV licence is advantageous. Join our team on a day shift with a supportive environment, excellent training, and career progression within a renowned dealer network.

Qualifications

• Qualified motor vehicle technician credentials are required or equivalent hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults, service and repair HGVs to Volvo standards.

We are currently recruiting for HGV Technicians to join our fantastic team at our brand new purpose built depot in Walsall.

The Role

Join our team as a skilled HGV Technician, where you’ll be responsible for fault diagnosis, servicing, and repairs in line with Volvo’s high standards. You’ll ensure all documentation is completed accurately, including repair orders, service reports, and production cards. We are looking for individuals who thrive under pressure and actively seeks solutions to technical challenges. Strong verbal communication skills and a commitment to exceptional customer service are essential.

Day Shift

Alternate Weeks:

• Week One – 06.00am until 14.30pm
• Week Two – 14.00am until 22.00pm
• Saturday mornings & call out on a rota basis

Requirements

Qualifications required City & Guilds part 1 & 2 / BTEC / IMI in motor vehicle management (or equivalent) or equivalent practical experience in the commercial vehicle industry. HGV / PSV Licence advantageous but not essential.
