Job summary

Octane Recruitment seeks an experienced HGV Technician for a modern workshop in Southampton. You will service, diagnose and repair heavy commercial vehicles, with focus on quality, safety and timely repairs. The role offers a £1,500 joining bonus, manufacturer development and HGV licence training.

The position is permanent/full-time with flexible start between 7:00am and 6:00pm, overtime and bonus opportunities. A UK driving licence and relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Relevant HGV/heavy vehicle maintenance qualifications or proven workshop experience in a similar role.
• Experience with service, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on heavy commercial vehicles.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy workshop team.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out routine servicing, inspections and maintenance on heavy commercial vehicles.
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and technical faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Completing repairs to manufacturer standards across HGV and commercial vehicle systems.
• Supporting breakdowns and roadside or rota requirements where applicable.

HGV Technician Workshop Based | HGV Mechanic | Commercial Vehicle Technician

HGV Technician required for a modern workshop maintaining and repairing HGVs, commercial vehicles and specialist fleet vehicles. Full training provided, £1,500 joining bonus, manufacturer development and HGV licence training available. Must have the right to work in the UK.

Must have the right to work in the UK and a full UK driving licence, Category C and Category C+E licence would be advantageous.

Location: Southampton

Pay / salary: £44,45 basic per annum, OTE £50,000 with overtime and bonus opportunities

Job type: Permanent / full-time role

Shift and schedule: Flexible start and finish times between 7:00am and 6:00pm, no Saturdays (available as OT)

Skills and experience

• Relevant HGV, heavy vehicle or commercial vehicle maintenance qualification, or proven workshop experience in a similar role
• Experience with service, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on heavy commercial vehicles
• Ability to work efficiently as part of a busy workshop team
• Own a well-stocked toolbox suitable for HGV workshop duties
• HGV, LGV or PCV licence would be advantageous
