Job summary

Perfect Placement UK Ltd in Southampton is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join a reputable workshop environment. You will repair and service a fleet of around 20 trucks, mainly Renault, with a friendly team and opportunities to develop your skills.

Qualifications

• Ideally fully qualified with a Class 1 licence; new entrants with the right attitude encouraged.
• Experience with heavy goods vehicles and trailers.
• Knowledge of diagnostic procedures and repair techniques.
• Full UK driving licence is required, Class 1 preferred.
• NVQ Level 3 is desirable but not essential.
• IRTEC certification and VOSA Etech training advantageous but not mandatory.
• Own tools preferred; communal tools provided and maintained by the team.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain a fleet of approximately 20 trucks, mainly Renault models.
• Diagnose faults on heavy goods vehicles and trailers, focusing on repair rather than part replacement.
• Conduct routine servicing, maintenance, and fault rectification to ensure fleet reliability.
• Support fleet cover on occasional Saturday mornings.
• Maintain shared tools and equipment in a collaborative workshop setting.
• Utilise modern workshop facilities including pits, lifts, and diagnostic equipment.
