Job summary

Resourcing Group in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced HGV/LCV/car Technician to join a busy, modern workshop. You will repair and maintain the company fleet of trucks, vans and cars, with training provided where needed.

Hours: Mon-Fri 7.30-4.30. Overtime and pension available in a great team environment. Essential qualifications include City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in heavy vehicle service and 2 years post-qualification HGV experience, plus a class 2 licence.

Qualifications

  • City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in heavy vehicle service, maintenance and repair.
  • 2 years' HGV mechanic experience post-qualification.
  • HGV Class 2 licence holder.
  • HGV/PMI and brake test qualification.
  • Weight and LOLER certification.
  • NVQ in vehicle mechanics.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Brake experience (training provided).
  • MOT preparation experience.
  • Modern mechanical and electrical diagnostics.
  • Accurate and timely defect reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Vehicle inspections.
  • Fault finding, repairs and servicing of commercial vehicles and trailers.
  • Vehicle servicing to manufacturer standards.
  • PMI and brake testing for trucks.
  • Weight and LOLER testing for tall lift vehicles.
  • Complete relevant paperwork and ensure compliance.
  • Use of diagnostic equipment.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines.

Job description

Our highly successful client is growing, and they now need an experienced HGV/LCV/car Technician to join their dedicated team. Our client offers a great team environment and has a modern workshop. You will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of the company's fleet of HGV'/LCV's and company cars. This role would suit someone who is comfortable working on cars, vans and trucks, but training will be provided if you have some of the experience.

Hours Mon-Fri 7.30-4.30pm

Main Duties:

  • Vehicle Inspections
  • Fault finding, repairs & servicing of commercial vehicles and trailers
  • Vehicle servicing to vehicle manufacturing standards
  • PMI and brake testing for trucks
  • Weigh an loler testing for tall lift vehicles
  • Completion of all relevant paperwork ensuring that all work undertaken is compliant
  • Use of diagnostic equipment
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines

Skills required:

  • If you are a HGV Technician you must be a fully skilled with industry recognised qualifications (City & Guilds / NVQ Level Three) in heavy vehicle service, maintenance and repair
  • 2 years' experience as an HGV Mechanic (Post Qualification)
  • HGV (class 2) licence holder
  • HGV / PMI and brake test qualified
  • Brake test qualified
  • Weight and loler certified
  • NVQ in vehicle mechanics
  • General competence for general servicing and maintenance
  • High level of communication
  • Basic knowledge of computers and fleet diagnostics
  • Good organisational skills and ability to be able to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
  • Must have the right to work in the UK
  • Brake experience (training can be given)
  • MOT preparation experience
  • Modern mechanical and electrical diagnostics and fault-finding
  • Accurate and timely defect reporting
