Job summary

Crossroads Truck & Bus Ltd is seeking a skilled HGV Technician for our Hull depot. You will diagnose faults, service and repair trucks to Volvo standards and ensure accurate documentation of repair orders and service reports. The role requires a proactive problem solver with good communication and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Qualifications listed: City & Guilds part1 & 2 / BTEC / IMI in motor vehicle management or equivalent practical experience.
• HGV licence is advantageous but not essential.
• Experience with fault diagnosis, servicing and repairs is preferred.

• Complete repair orders, service reports and production cards accurately.
• Work under pressure and provide solutions to technical challenges.

HGV Technicians – Hull

Crossroads Truck & Bus Ltd is the Volvo Truck and Bus specialists across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. We provide a total transport solution for the industry, from new trucks to used trucks, and parts and servicing for trucks, buses and trailers.

We are looking for a HGV Technician to join our fantastic team at our Hull depot.

Shift Patterns

• DAYSHIFT Monday – Friday: 08:00–16:30, Alternate Saturday: 08:00–13:00
• ALTERNATE EARLY / LATE SHIFTS Week 1: Monday – Friday: 06:00–14:30, Week 2: Monday – Friday: 14:00–22:30, Alternate Saturday: 08:00–13:00
• NIGHTSHIFT Tuesday – Thursday: 18:00–06:00, Friday – 18:00–02:00 (early finish on a Friday to get your weekend back!)

42‑hour working week, 23 days holiday.

The Role

Join our team as a skilled HGV Technician, where you’ll be responsible for fault diagnosis, servicing, and repairs in line with Volvo’s high standards. You’ll ensure all documentation is completed accurately, including repair orders, service reports, and production cards. We are looking for individuals who thrive under pressure and actively seek solutions to technical challenges. Strong verbal communication skills and a commitment to exceptional customer service are essential.

HGV Technician Requirements

• Qualifications: City & Guilds part1 & 2 / BTEC / IMI in motor vehicle management or equivalent practical experience in the commercial vehicle industry.
• HGV Licence advantageous but not essential.
