Job summary

Crossroads Truck & Bus Ltd, the Volvo Truck and Bus specialists across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, is seeking a skilled HGV Technician in Rotherham. You will diagnose faults, service and repair vehicles to Volvo standards while ensuring accurate documentation and high-quality customer service.

Join a team on varied shifts with a 42-hour week, 23 days holiday, and opportunities for training and progression.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds Part 1 & 2 / BTEC / IMI in motor vehicle management (or equivalent).
• Equivalent practical experience in the commercial vehicle industry.
• HGV Licence advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Fault diagnosis, servicing and repairs to Volvo’s high standards.
• Complete documentation including repair orders, service reports and production cards.
• Thrive under pressure and actively seek solutions to technical challenges.
• Strong verbal communication and commitment to excellent customer service.

Job description

Crossroads Truck & Bus Ltd is the Volvo Truck and Bus specialists across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. We provide a total transport solution for the industry, from new trucks to used trucks, and parts and servicing for trucks, buses and trailers.

Location

Rotherham

Shifts

• 4 on 4 off rolling shift pattern
• Straight days Monday to Friday
• Alternate weeks: early/late shift
• Nights: Tuesday - Thursday 18:00 - 06:00, Friday 18:00 - 02:00 (early finish on a Friday to get your weekend back)
• 42 hour working week
• 23 days holiday

The Role

Join our team as a skilled HGV Technician, where you’ll be responsible for fault diagnosis, servicing, and repairs in line with Volvo’s high standards. You’ll ensure all documentation is completed accurately, including repair orders, service reports, and production cards. We are looking for individuals who thrive under pressure and actively seek solutions to technical challenges. Strong verbal communication skills and a commitment to exceptional customer service are essential.
