Platinum Recruitment Consultancy is hiring an experienced HGV Technician in Luton. You will join a professional workshop to service, maintain, diagnose and repair a varied fleet of heavy goods vehicles, ensuring roadworthiness and customer satisfaction.

The role offers a 44-hour week, overtime potential, and benefits including pension, healthcare, and generous leave. A C&G or NVQ Level 3 HGV Technician qualification and experience with diagnostic tools are preferred.

• Participate in call-outs and breakdown rota as required.

We're recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join an established commercial vehicle operation in Luton. This is a great opportunity for a qualified technician looking for a stable role, strong benefits and the chance to work on a varied range of heavy goods vehicles.

You'll be part of a professional workshop team, carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs while helping keep customer vehicles safe, reliable and roadworthy.

Key Responsibilities

As an HGV Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing customer vehicles to a high standard, including:

• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults
• Carrying out servicing and routine maintenance
• Using specialist diagnostic equipment
• Completing scheduled safety inspections
• Identifying and reporting any required rectification work
• Completing job cards accurately and clearly
• Liaising with the Shift Supervisor regarding daily workloads and tasks
• Participating in the call-out and breakdown rota when required

What we're looking for

To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:

• A C&G or NVQ Level 3 HGV Technician qualification
• Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge
• Previous experience working on heavy goods vehicles
• Good understanding of workshop health and safety
• Experience using vehicle diagnostic equipment
• A clean driving licence; HGV licence would be advantageous

The role operates on a Monday-to-Friday shift pattern, with some flexibility required to support the wider workshop operation. Occasional Saturday work may also be required as part of the rota.
