Job summary

Consult2Recruit is seeking an HGV Technician to maintain, service and repair a range of HGV refuse vehicles to high safety and quality standards.

You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults, and ensure repairs are effective. A full UK driving licence is required; HGV Class 2 is desirable. The role is full-time with a probation period and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in a service or vehicle maintenance environment.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• HGV Class 2 licence desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

Job description

HGV Technician

Pay: Circa £18 per hour (depending on experience) + overtime

Hours: 45 hours per week | Monday–Friday, 07:30–17:00

Contract: Full-time, permanent (6-month probation)

Start Date: ASAP

The Role

You will be responsible for carrying out maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a range of HGV refuse vehicles, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

• Diagnose faults and complete mechanical repairs
• Repair or replace damaged and worn components

Key Skills & Experience

• Previous experience within a service or vehicle maintenance environment
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills

• Well organised with excellent attention to detail
• Full UK driving licence required
• HGV Class 2 licence desirable but not essential
