Job summary

Confidential Employer in the West Midlands is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to service, maintain, diagnose and repair heavy commercial vehicles. You will work with an established workshop team in a main dealer environment offering good training, overtime potential and long-term career development.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent HGV qualification, strong diagnostic skills, and a valid UK driving licence.

Qualifications

JOB DESCRIPTION

An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced HGV Technician to join a well-established commercial vehicle dealership based in Tipton.

You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing heavy commercial vehicles to a high standard while working as part of an experienced workshop team.

This is a strong opportunity for a Level 3 qualified HGV Technician looking to join a reputable main dealer environment with good training, overtime potential and long-term career development.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
• Preparing vehicles for MOT
• Completing vehicle safety inspections and checks
• Ensuring all repairs are completed safely and to required standards
• Completing job cards, paperwork and maintenance records accurately
• Maintaining up-to-date technical and product knowledge
• Following all Health & Safety, environmental and workshop procedures
• Attending technical training when required

SHIFT PATTERN

45 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Early Shift: 07:00 – 16:30

Late Shift: 09:30 – 19:00

Alternate Saturday mornings are also required and paid at the overtime rate.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be considered for this position, you should have:

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent HGV technical qualification
• Previous experience working as an HGV Technician, Truck Technician or HGV Mechanic
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Experience servicing and repairing heavy commercial vehicles
• A full and valid UK manual driving licence
• The ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines

A Class 1 or Class 2 HGV licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
