Job summary

RE Personnel is seeking an experienced HGV Technician for a full-time position in Beenham, near Reading. You willService, inspect and repair HGVs, diagnose faults across hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems, and prepare vehicles for MOT testing.

The role includes maintaining records and supporting apprentices within a busy workshop. The ideal candidate will have City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in HGV maintenance, strong fault-finding skills, a solid safety mindset, and excellent communication

Qualifications

• City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 qualification, or equivalent experience in HGV maintenance and repair.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safe workshop practices.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team environment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to vehicle maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out inspections, servicing and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults.
• Preparing and presenting vehicles for MOT testing and compliance inspections.
• Maintaining accurate service records, job cards and workshop documentation.
• Supporting apprentice technicians and assisting in the smooth running of workshop operations.
