Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs, trailers, and commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose faults efficiently, adhering to DVSA standards.
• Complete repairs accurately and within specified timeframes.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and general workshop duties.
• Attend roadside breakdowns and emergency repairs when required.
• Complete documentation, service records, and warranty paperwork.

Duties of a HGV Technician:

• Perform inspections, servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs, trailers, and commercial vehicles
• Diagnose faults efficiently, adhering to DVSA standards
• Complete repairs accurately and within specified timeframes
• Conduct preventative maintenance and general workshop duties
• Attend roadside breakdowns and emergency repairs when required
• Complete all relevant documentation, service records, and warranty paperwork
• Maintain high standards of workshop cleanliness and stock control
• Work both independently and as part of a supportive team

Requirements of a HGV Technician:

• Level 3 qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, or IMI) in HGV Maintenance & Repair
• Full UK driving licence (Class 1 advantageous but not essential)
• Proficient diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Ability to identify worn or faulty components in line with DVSA standards
• MOT licence beneficial but not essential
