Perfect Placement UK Ltd is representing a well-established commercial vehicle dealership in Preston seeking an experienced HGV Technician for an evening shift from 2:00pm to 10:00pm, Monday to Friday. The role offers a competitive hourly rate of £22.70 and overtime opportunities to maximise earnings.

Key duties include routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of heavy goods vehicles, with a focus on safety, quality, and modern diagnostic systems.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified HGV Technician with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Proven experience in HGV maintenance and repair within a commercial workshop environment.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy goods vehicles in accordance with manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults efficiently and accurately.
• Complete job cards and all associated documentation professionally.
• Adhere strictly to Health & Safety procedures and DVSA standards.
• Support workshop operations on a rota basis, ensuring continuous productivity.
• Work across a range of heavy goods vehicles with a focus on safety, quality, and modern diagnostic systems.
