Job summary

Our client in Widnes is recruiting a Nightshift HGV Technician for a busy commercial vehicle dealership. The role offers a basic salary of £55,000 per year with potential earnings exceeding £57,000 including overtime and bonuses. Shift pattern is 8:30pm to 7:00am, Tuesday to Friday, with 30 days holiday and weekly pay including holiday pay accrual.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2+ in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• Proven experience diagnosing, servicing, maintaining and repairing commercial vehicles.
• Full UK driving licence; HGV licence advantageous but not essential.
• Organised, detail-oriented and able to work independently or in a team.
• Excellent communication and professional attitude.
• Willingness to work night shifts Tue-Fri 8:30pm–7:00am.

Responsibilities

• Conduct maintenance, servicing and repairs on commercial vehicles and trailers.
• Diagnose faults accurately and carry out testing procedures.
• Perform effective, permanent repairs to minimise downtime.
• Complete warranty, retail and contract documentation accurately.
• Implement preventative maintenance procedures to reduce costs.
• Support team to ensure vehicle safety, compliance and quality.
• Maintain high level of technical documentation and follow manufacturer guidelines.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 2 or above in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (City & Guilds or equivalent)
• Proven experience in diagnosing, servicing, maintaining, and repairing commercial vehicles
• Knowledge of work methods and technical specifications through manufacturer training
• Full UK driving licence; an HGV licence is advantageous but not essential
• Organised, detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude
• Ability to work night shifts from 8:30pm to 7:00am, Tuesday to Friday
