Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltd is seeking an experienced HGV Technician for a busy Preston workshop. The role involves routine maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on heavy goods vehicles, with a strong emphasis on safety and high-quality workmanship.

The ideal candidate will have NVQ Level 3 in HGV, proven workshop experience, and robust diagnostic skills. A 2nd shift rota is in place, with overtime opportunities and comprehensive training programs.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in HGV or commercial vehicle maintenance.
• Proven experience in HGV repair and maintenance in a busy workshop.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) in accordance with manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults efficiently.
• Complete job cards, service reports, and all necessary paperwork accurately and promptly.
• Adhere to Health & Safety regulations and DVSA standards.
• Support and participate in shift operations on a rota basis, ensuring consistent workshop productivity.
• Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency in all tasks.

Duties

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Cat C) licence is advantageous
