Job summary

Questech Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced HGV Technician for a Peterborough-based client.

This permanent role operates a 4 on 4 off shift pattern and pays £20.81 per hour. The successful candidate will maintain, repair, and diagnose heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) using schematics and diagrams, with a strong focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
• Previous experience working on HGVs.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence (HGV licence advantageous but not essential).

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on HGVs to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Diagnose faults using schematics and electrical diagrams, then carry out necessary repairs or replacements.
• Perform fabrication and welding tasks as required for bodywork or structural repairs.
• Assist with the assembly of vehicle components or modifications as needed.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and repairs performed.
• Adhere to health and safety policies at all times, including the safe handling of heavy components and equipment.

Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated HGV Technician to join their team in Peterborough.

This position works a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.

Permanent position.

£20.81 per hour.
