Job summary

Perfect Placement are recruiting an experienced HGV Technician in Loanhead for a reputable commercial vehicle dealership. You will maintain and repair HGVs to manufacturer standards, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

The role offers a 45-hour week, flexible shifts, overtime opportunities, a company pension, and life insurance. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and knowledge of heavy vehicle brands are preferred.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent is required.
• Proven experience in a commercial vehicle workshop.
• Knowledge of DAF or similar heavy vehicle brands preferred.
• Strong diagnostic skills for mechanical and electrical faults.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance, inspections and repairs on HGVs to manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults accurately.
• Complete job cards and documentation per company procedures.
• Maintain high safety standards and DVSA compliance.
• Support workshop operations with flexible shifts and rotation.
• Deliver high quality work and excellent customer service.

Are you an experienced HGV Technician seeking a rewarding position within a reputable commercial vehicle dealership?

Our client, a well-established company in the motor trade industry, is expanding its technical team in Loanhead and is offering a stable, forward-thinking environment where your skills can thrive. The position of HGV Technician requires a highly skilled professional dedicated to maintaining high standards of service and safety.

• Basic salary of £47,361 or £20.24 per hour
• 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexible shift options available based on your preferences

Duties as an HGV Technician:

• Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on HGVs in accordance with manufacturer and industry standards
• Diagnose and efficiently resolve mechanical and electrical faults
• Accurately complete job cards and all related documentation, maintaining compliance with company procedures
• Maintain high safety standards, adhering to Health & Safety regulations and DVSA compliance
• Support workshop operations through flexible shift work, including rotation where applicable
• Deliver exceptional quality and customer service in all tasks performed

Requirements:

• Fully qualified HGV Technician with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification
• Proven experience working in a commercial vehicle workshop environment
• Knowledge of DAF or similar heavy vehicle brands is preferred
• Strong diagnostic skills in mechanical and electrical fault finding
• Adaptability to flexible shift patterns and a team-oriented approach
• Commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards at all times
