Qualifications

• Qualified to IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
• 1–2 years of practical experience post-qualification preferred.
• Strong team player with collaborative attitude and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Conduct major and minor repairs on heavy goods vehicles.
• Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance services.
• Maintain an organised workshop inventory and cleanliness.
• Assist diagnosing vehicle issues with repair teams.
• Record repairs using Keyloop/Kerridge systems and complete documentation.
• Carry out wheel alignments and tyre fitting.

Duties of a HGV Technician

• Conduct major and minor repairs on heavy goods vehicles
• Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance services
• Maintain an organised inventory within the workshop
• Ensure workshop cleanliness, including managing oil spills and dust
• Assist in diagnosing vehicle issues alongside repair teams
• Record repairs and maintenance using Keyloop/Kerridge systems
• Complete all relevant documentation, warranties, and escalated claims as necessary
• Carry out wheel alignments and tyre fitting
• Provide accurate and timely customer documentation
• Work efficiently within set timeframes to maintain workshop productivity

Requirements of a HGV Technician

• Qualified to IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
• Ideally 1-2 years of practical experience post-qualification
• Strong team player with a collaborative attitude
• Able to produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
• Motivated to meet and exceed targets
• Valid HGV driving licence is highly desirable but not essential
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
