Job summary

Venatu Consulting Ltd is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join the Barnsley team. This role offers a stable Monday-to-Friday pattern with rotating options and occasional Saturday mornings, plus 1.5x overtime.

You will service, maintain, inspect and repair a varied fleet of commercial vehicles, trailers and plant, with opportunities to work across HGV units and plant while upholding health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Has previous experience working on HGVs, commercial vehicles, trailers or plant.
• Has strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
• Takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship.
• Can work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintenance, inspection and repair of a varied fleet of commercial vehicles and equipment.
• Work across HGV units, trailers and plant.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on HGVs, trailers and plant.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults.
• Carry out routine servicing and inspections.
• Complete repairs efficiently and to a high standard.
• Carry out safety inspections and defect rectification.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults.
• Work on braking, suspension, steering and other vehicle systems.
• Maintain and repair a varied fleet of trailers and units.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety requirements.
• Complete relevant maintenance and inspection documentation accurately.

Salary: £46,467 – £54,500 per annum
Shift: Monday to Friday | Rotating shifts Monday to Friday – 7:00am – 3:30pm / Monday to Friday – 12:00pm – 8:30pm
1 in 3 Saturday mornings | Overtime available at 1.5x

The Role
