Job summary

Venatu Consulting Ltd in Biggleswade is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join a professional fleet workshop. You will service, inspect, maintain and repair a range of HGVs and commercial vehicles as part of a dedicated team.

This permanent, full-time role offers a 4-day working week with 12-hour shifts (6:00am–6:00pm) and overtime paid at 1.5x. Salary up to £55,000 per year plus the opportunity to increase earnings through overtime.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join an established fleet maintenance workshop in Biggleswade.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV Technician looking for a 4-day working week, competitive salary and the opportunity to earn additional money through overtime.

The Role

Working as part of a professional fleet maintenance team, you will be responsible for the servicing, inspection, maintenance and repair of a range of HGVs and commercial vehicles.

You will play an important role in ensuring the fleet remains safe, compliant, reliable and available for operation.

• Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance on HGVs
• Servicing and repairing commercial vehicles
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
• Carrying out inspections and safety checks
• Identifying and rectifying vehicle defects
• Working on braking, suspension, steering and associated vehicle systems
• Carrying out repairs efficiently and to a high standard
• Completing maintenance records and relevant paperwork
• Ensuring vehicles are maintained to a safe and roadworthy standard
• Working in line with company health and safety procedures
• Supporting the wider workshop and fleet maintenance team

About You

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician, LGV Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician
• Strong mechanical knowledge
• Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing HGVs
• Good diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• A professional and reliable approach
• Strong attention to detail
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety
