Job summary

Kemp Recruitment is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join a well-established fleet maintenance company based near Dukinfield. The role covers servicing, diagnostics and maintenance for trucks and trailers, on a 4-day week pattern.

You will work in a brand-new workshop, with full in-house facilities and a shift pattern that includes 6am-6pm blocks. Starting salary is £47,000–£52,000 depending on skills and qualifications, with overtime paid at 1.5x and a discretionary bonus scheme.

Qualifications

• Detailed experience as an HGV Technician with modern commercial vehicles.
• Time served on heavies or recognised HGV qualifications preferred.
• Willingness to work a 4-day week.

Responsibilities

• Service and maintain trucks and trailers in a brand-new, well-equipped workshop.
• Diagnose running faults and perform overhauls as required.
• Carry out pre-MOT checks and undertake repairs as needed.

Shift: WK 1 Mon-Thur 6am-6pm WK 2 Tues-Fri 6am-6pm+Sat 7am-12pm (3.5hrs paid at 1.5X) or M-F Days

HGV Technician / Mechanic / Fitter opportunity

My client, a well-established fleet maintenance company with depots across the North West is actively seeking to employ an experienced HGV Technician to be based out of a site in the Dukinfield area to work on a 4 day shift (Monday – Thursday & Tuesday -Friday shift). The role is available due to recent expansion and increased workloads/customer demands and they are looking to add to the team ASAP.

HGV Technician / Mechanic / Fitter duties

• Working in a brand new, purpose built, well equipped workshop, the successful HGV Technician will be required to undertake all aspects of vehicle service and maintenance on a range of trucks and trailers
• Duties range from correction of running defects to full vehicle overhauls, diagnostics and everything in between.
• You will also be required to undertake pre MOT checks and undertake any repairs that are required.

Due to the location of the site you will work on a number of customer trailers

HGV Technician / Mechanic / Fitter experience / qualifications required

• You must have detailed experience as an HGV Technician and be familiar with modern commercial vehicles.
• Any experience of onsite clinics would be an advantage
• Ideally hold recognised qualifications in HGV or be time served on heavies
• Wanting to work a 4 day week
