Driver Hire Bedford and Huntingdon in Exeter is seeking skilled Lorry Engineers / HGV Technicians for both full-time and part-time roles. You will carry out servicing, diagnostics and repairs on heavy vehicles, ensuring roadworthiness and adherence to safety standards.

We offer a competitive salary (£45,000–£60,000 per year, DOE), standard hours (08:00–17:30) with occasional Saturday work, ongoing training and career development, and a professional working environment.

Formación

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Experience working on HGVs, lorries, trailers or other commercial vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Good understanding of commercial vehicle maintenance and repair procedures.
• UK driving licence (HGV Class 1 or 2 advantageous for road-testing after repairs).

Responsabilidades

• Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
• Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance to minimise vehicle downtime.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections and ensure roadworthiness standards.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.
• Follow health and safety procedures and company policies.
• Work efficiently to minimise downtime and support operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Good understanding of commercial vehicle maintenance and repair procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence (HGV Class 1 or Class 2 Licence is highly advantageous, as it allows engineers to road-test vehicles after repairs).
