AutoSkills (United Kingdom) is recruiting a Vehicle Technician for its Leicestershire workshop. You will service, diagnose and repair a wide range of cars and light commercial vehicles in a modern, well-equipped facility.

The role offers £46,000–£55,000 per year depending on experience, plus overtime. It includes 28 days of holiday, on-site parking and gym access, with a shift pattern 6am–2pm and 2pm–10pm (one in three Saturdays).

Qualifications

NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served.
Experience as Vehicle Technician/Car Mechanic/LCV Technician.
Full UK driving licence.
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
MOT Tester qualification (Class 1–7) or willing to train.

Responsibilities

Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on a wide range of cars and light commercial vehicles.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment.
Complete routine vehicle inspections and health checks.

The Opportunity

An established, family-run automotive business with over 30 years of success is looking to recruit an experienced Vehicle Technician to join its busy multi-franchise workshop in Leicestershire.

Working within a modern, well-equipped workshop, you'll be responsible for servicing, diagnosing and repairing a wide variety of cars and light commercial vehicles. The Role

As a Vehicle Technician, your responsibilities will include:

Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on a wide range of cars and light commercial vehicles.
Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using the latest diagnostic equipment.
Completing routine vehicle inspections and health checks.
Performing scheduled maintenance including brakes, clutches, cambelts and suspension repairs.
Preparing vehicles to manufacturer and MOT standards.
Completing accurate job cards and repair reports.
Maintaining a high standard of workmanship while working efficiently to allocated repair times.
Supporting and mentoring apprentice technicians where appropriate.
Delivering excellent customer service through clear communication and professional workmanship.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician, Car Mechanic or LCV Technician.
Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or be time served.
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
Experience working on a wide range of vehicle makes and models.
A full UK Driving Licence.
The ability to work independently and as part of a busy workshop team.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
A positive attitude with a strong focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
MOT Tester qualification (Class 1, 2, 4, 5 or 7) or willingness to undertake training.
Category C or C+E driving licence.
Experience mentoring apprentices or junior technicians.
