Job summary

Tru talent is seeking an HGV Technician to service, repair and diagnose faults on heavy commercial vehicles in a modern workshop in Essex. You will work to DVSA standards and maintain documentation.

You'll benefit from 31 days holiday, pension and ongoing training. The role offers 42.5 hours per week, early/late shifts, and overtime at 1.5x. A full UK driving licence and Level 3 NVQ in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance are required.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
• Proven experience working on HGVs or commercial vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability.
• Ability to complete repairs and maintenance to a high standard.
• Own tools.
• Full UK driving licence.
• HGV/PSV licence desirable but not essential.
• IRTEC qualification desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance on HGVs.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults using modern diagnostic equipment.
• Complete MOT preparation and inspections to DVSA standards.
• Maintain and repair heavy commercial vehicles to a high standard.
• Complete accurate job cards and repair documentation.
• Work efficiently within a busy workshop environment.
• Maintain excellent health and safety standards.

Skills

Strong diagnostic and fault-finding

HGV/PSV licence desirable

Education

Job description

HGV Technician £25ph

Location: Essex

Pay: £25.00 per hour (£55,250 per year) + Overtime at 1.5x

Hours: 42.5 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Alternate early and late shifts

Week 1: Monday-Friday 06:00-15:00

Week 2: Monday-Friday 13:00-22:00

Additional: Alternate Saturday mornings paid at overtime rate
