Job summary

Kemp Recruitment Ltd is seeking an HGV Technician for a Southampton-based role on Monday to Friday days. You will diagnose, repair and maintain a range of HGVs, ensuring fleet reliability, safety, and performance.

Working with well-known brands, you’ll perform safety inspections and prepare vehicles for MOT. The role offers a base salary of £45,000 with a £1,500 joining bonus, extensive manufacturer and in-house training, a clear progression path, overtime opportunities, and a generous benefits

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• Experience working with HGVs or commercial vehicles.
• Class 1 or Class 2 licence (preferred but not essential).

About the HGV Technician Role

As an HGV Technician, you'll play a key role in ensuring fleet reliability, safety, and performance. Working with well-known brands including Mercedes, Iveco, and Ford, your day-to-day will include:

• Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a range of HGVs and specialist vehicles
• Conducting safety inspections and preparing vehicles for MOT
• Ensuring all work meets DVSA and manufacturer standards

What we are looking for in the successful HGV Technician

• NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
• Previous experience working with HGV's or commercial vehicles
• Class 1 or Class 2 licence (preferred but not essential)
