Job summary

Metro Rod West Birmingham is seeking a skilled HGV Tanker Driver (HGV Class 2) to join our team in Birmingham. The role covers a 8am–5pm, Monday to Friday schedule with a salary of £34,500 plus overtime and benefits.

You will operate a FlexLine/CityFlex tanker, perform planned maintenance, and assist with occasional emergency drainage work. Training will be provided to develop drainage expertise and support your career growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience driving a tanker.
• HGV Class 2 driving license required.
• Experience in drainage sector preferable though not essential.
• Positive, flexible attitude and willingness to work unsociable hours.

Responsibilities

• Operate a FlexLine/CityFlex tanker for planned maintenance.
• Carry out occasional emergency drainage calls.
• Perform drainage cleaning, clearance and maintenance tasks.
• Learn and develop drainage expertise with training and support.

Metro Rod work with the likes of Equans, Amey, Aldi, Mitie, Greggs, McDonalds, Wetherspoons and many more in the FM, Social Housing, Property Management, Retail, Industrial and Leisure sectors. What’s involved?

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced tanker operator to develop specialist skills within the drainage industry.

Operating a FlexLine/CityFlex tanker, you’ll enjoy a varied, hands-on role carrying out planned maintenance and occasional emergency work, including drainage cleaning, clearance, repair and maintenance.

Drainage tanker or CityFlex experience would be a real advantage, but it isn’t essential. If you have solid experience operating other tanker vehicles and are keen to learn, we’ll provide the training and support you need to develop your drainage expertise.

The Person…

• An experienced HGV Driver Class 2 and with sector experience in drainage – preferable
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience driving a tanker - essential
• Strong communication skills
• IT Literacy including smart phone technology
• CSCS, HPWJ, Confined Spaces and associated cards (preferred)
• A positive, flexible, can-do attitude

• Be willing to work occasional/unsociable hours, weekends/nights
• Hold a full UK driving licence
• HGV Class 2 driving license
• Team player
