Job summary

Pertemps Loughborough Commercial is recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver to join a busy logistics operation in Derbyshire. The role operates 4 days on 4 days off during nights (6:30pm–6:30am) with competitive hourly pay and overtime after 9.6 hours.

You will shuttle trailers, move trucks between bays, and perform daily checks. Applicants must hold a valid Class 1 licence, Driver CPC, and tachograph card, with a strong safety record and reliable punctuality.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Previous Class 1 driving or shunting experience is desirable.
• Good understanding of transport legislation and health & safety.
• Reliable with a positive attitude and excellent timekeeping.

Responsibilities

Job description

This temporary HGV Shunter position in Kegworth offers £18.75 hourly, rising to £28.12 after 9.6 hours per shift. Working four nights on, four off, from 6:30pm to 6:30am, the driver will manoeuvre trailers across the yard, reposition vehicles between loading bays and parking zones, and complete daily inspections. Close liaison with transport and warehouse colleagues ensures every movement is handled safely and promptly. Applicants must hold a valid Class 1 licence and demonstrate a strong safety record. Adherence to site health and safety rules is essential throughout each twelve-hour rotation.
