Job summary

Adecco is recruiting a HGV Refuse Collection Driver to join a team of valued key workers and help improve the environment we all live in. The role features pre-planned routes with set start and finish times, providing a strong work-life balance and opportunities for overtime.

You will carry out refuse and recycling collections daily, operate all machinery safely, and use in-cab tech. Excellent customer relations and a professional approach are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 driving licence (with no more than 6 points).
• Driver CPC.
• Willingness to help refuse loaders while on rounds to enable your team to complete the route within the service level agreement.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated.
• Willingness to undertake tasks.

Responsibilities

• Carry out refuse and recycling collections daily, with skills and knowledge of all machinery aspects of the job.
• Deploy safe lifting and handling techniques appropriate to articles left for removal.
• Use in-cab technology and mobile devices as directed.
• Complete relevant paperwork in real time.
• Carry out daily inspections and reporting for machinery and vehicles, before and after use.
• Ensure the cleanliness of machinery and vehicles.
• Maintain excellent customer and client relations, particularly with members of the public and other motor users.

As a HGV Refuse Collection Driver, you'll:

• Carry out refuse and recycling collections daily, with skills and knowledge of all machinery aspects of the job
• Undertake all duties in a professional manner deploying safe lifting and handling techniques appropriate to articles left for removal
• Use in-cab technology and mobile devices as directed
• Complete relevant paperwork in real time
• Carry out daily inspections and reporting for machinery and vehicles, before and after use
• Ensure the cleanliness of machinery and vehicles.
• Maintain excellent customer and client relations, particularly with members of the public and other motor users

Your typical working hours will be:

• 6.00am to 4.00pm Tuesday to Friday
• Overtime opportunities available

What you'll need to do the role:

• Valid HGV Class 2 driving licence (with no more than 6 points)
• Driver CPC
• Willingness to help refuse loaders while on your rounds to enable your team to complete the route within the service level agreement
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated
• Willingness to undertake tasks
• Clean drivers licence
• Previous relevant experience desirable, but not essential
