Job summary

Adecco is hiring a HGV Refuse Collection Driver to join a team of valued key workers and help protect the environment we all live in. With pre-planned routes, set start and finish times, and a strong work-life balance, you’ll have time for family and friends.

You will carry out refuse and recycling collections daily, use in-cab technology, complete paperwork in real time, and maintain the cleanliness and safe operation of vehicles. Weekly pay and on-site parking are provided.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 2 licence required with no more than 6 points.
• Driver CPC is mandatory.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Willingness to work with refuse loaders as part of the team.
• Clean driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out refuse and recycling collections daily.
• Use in-cab technology and mobile devices as directed.
• Complete relevant paperwork in real time.
• Carry out daily vehicle and machinery inspections and reporting.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and presentation.
• Foster excellent customer relations with the public and clients.

HGV Refuse Collection Driver to join a team of valued key workers and help make a positive difference to the environment we all live and work in.

As a HGV Refuse Collection Driver, you'll:

• Carry out refuse and recycling collections daily, with skills and knowledge of all machinery aspects of the job
• Undertake all duties in a professional manner deploying safe lifting and handling techniques appropriate to articles left for removal
• Use in-cab technology and mobile devices as directed
• Complete relevant paperwork in real time
• Carry out daily inspections and reporting for machinery and vehicles, before and after use
• Ensure the cleanliness of machinery and vehicles.
• Maintain excellent customer and client relations, particularly with members of the public and other motor users

Your typical working hours will be:

• 5.45 to 1.45 Monday - Friday
• Overtime opportunities available

What you'll need to do the role:

• Valid HGV Class 2 driving licence (with no more than 6 points)
• Driver CPC
• Willingness to help refuse loaders while on your rounds to enable your team to complete the route within the service level agreement
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated
• Willingness to undertake tasks
• Clean drivers licence
• Previous relevant experience desirable, but not essential
