Job summary

Recruitment Helpline Ltd in Bishop Auckland is seeking an experienced and qualified HGV Mechanic for a full-time, permanent role. The workshop offers a 40-hour week with overtime opportunities and a competitive salary based on experience.

You will service, diagnose, and repair HGVs to MOT standards, perform inspections, and maintain thorough service records. NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent and a full UK driving licence are preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic.
• NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Full UK driving licence (Class 1 would be an advantage).

Responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs to MOT standards.
• Diagnose faults and carry out inspections to identify issues.
• Complete vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Carry out brake, suspension, steering and general mechanical repairs.
• Identify faults and complete repairs efficiently.
• Ensure all work meets high safety and quality standards.
• Keep accurate records of work carried out and parts used.
• Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and maintain quality.

Key Duties:

• Perform routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs for customer vehicles and our own vehicles to Mot Standard
• Diagnose faults and carry out inspections to identify issues.
