Job summary

Recruitment Helpline Ltd seeks an experienced HGV Mechanic to join a well-established company in Bishop Auckland. This full-time, permanent role offers 40-hour weeks with overtime and a competitive salary based on experience.

You will service, maintain and repair HGVs for both customer vehicles and the company fleet. The role requires NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to work independently or in a workshop team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic.
• NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Full UK driving licence (Class 1 would be an advantage).

Responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs for customer vehicles and company fleet.
• Diagnose faults and carry out inspections to identify issues.
• Complete vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Carry out brake, suspension, steering and general mechanical repairs.
• Identify faults and complete repairs efficiently.
• Ensure all work is carried out to a high standard and in line with safety requirements.
• Keep accurate records of work carried out and parts used.
• Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and maintain quality.
