Job summary

QS Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a Class 2 (HGV) Refuse Driver for the Caenby Corner (LN8) area. You will operate a Class 2 refuse vehicle on planned residential routes and carry out household waste collections with a focus on safety and customer service.

The role is temporary with long-term perm opportunities. Hours are Mon–Fri, 06:45 starts, 9.75-hour shifts, averaging 37 hours per week, with 30-minute breaks; overtime paid at enhanced rates. UK applicants only.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence and CPC/ Tachograph knowledge.
• Good level of physical fitness required.
• Previous refuse driving experience preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Drive a Class 2 refuse vehicle on residential routes.
• Carry out household waste collections safely and efficiently.
• Work with refuse loaders as part of a team.
• Assist with loading duties occasionally.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects.

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Class 2 (HGV) Refuse Driver to work in the Caenby Corner (LN8) area, supporting local waste collection services.
This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection of household waste, working as part of a team to help keep the local community clean and well maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Driving a Class 2 refuse vehicle on planned residential collection routes.
• Carrying out household waste collections safely and efficiently.
• Working as part of a team alongside refuse loaders.
• Assisting with loading duties when required, although this will only be occasional.
• Completing daily vehicle checks and promptly reporting any defects or issues.
• Ensuring all collections are carried out safely and in accordance with relevant regulations and procedures.
• Providing a professional, polite and courteous service to members of the public.
• Maintaining a high standard of safety and professionalism throughout each shift

Duration: Long term, perm oppertunities.

Contract Type: Temporary

Hourly Rate: £15.08 p/h for first 37 hours. All hours over paid at £22.62 (Garenteed minimum of atleast 1 hour over time each week)Minimum weekly pay: £580.58Weekly Pay28 days annual leave pro-rata

Experience & Qualifications

Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence
