Job summary

East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service is seeking an Engineering Services Technician to service and repair its fleet of heavy and light vehicles, with opportunities to work in our 3 workshops and mobile units. The role emphasizes practical automotive expertise and a strong commitment to public safety.

The successful candidate will be based at Roedean workshop, require a HGV licence, and bring their own tools. Salary starts around £39,663 p.a., with progression to £43,894 after 5 years.

Qualifications

• You will need to live within East Sussex.
• You will have a HGV driving licence and own tools suitable to the repair and maintenance of light and heavy vehicles.
• Experience in heavy motor vehicle repair is essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and dispose of the ESFRS vehicle inventory.
• Work in our workshops and mobile rigs to service on-station and call-out duties.
• Contribute to keeping fleet in safe, reliable condition for frontline operations.
