Job summary

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service is seeking an Engineering Services Technician to maintain and repair its fleet of heavy vehicles and equipment. The role requires an HGV licence, ownership of appropriate tools and a proactive, practical approach to repairs.

You will work 37 hours per week with 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, access to a local government pension scheme and sick pay after a qualifying period. Based at Roedean workshop with on-call duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in heavy motor vehicle repair and maintenance.
• Live within East Sussex and hold an HGV driving licence.
• Own tools suitable for repair and maintenance of light and heavy vehicles.
• Willingness to work 37 hours per week and participate in call-outs as required.

Responsibilities

• Repair, service and maintain ESFRS fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Work from Roedean workshop and mobile workshops for on-station servicing.
• Support safe operation and compliance with workshop procedures.
