Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd is recruiting an HGV Technician for a busy, family-run business in the UK. The role involves repairing vehicles (primarily HGV) and performing routine maintenance checks to keep fleets running smoothly.

You will diagnose issues using modern diagnostic equipment and ensure servicing meets safety and manufacturer standards. A minimum of 3 years' experience and NVQ Level 3 are required, with opportunities related to electric/hybrid systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of Vehicle Technician experience since being qualified.
• Qualified to City and Guilds / NVQ Level 3.
• Effective diagnostic skills.
• Strong interest in motor vehicles.
• A class 1 or 2 licence would be an advantage but not essential.
• Interest/experience in diagnostics and electric/hybrid vehicles advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Repair vehicles (mainly HGV) and perform routine maintenance checks.
• Perform diagnostic work on vehicles using relevant diagnostic equipment.
• Ensure vehicle servicing activities are completed safely and to high quality in line with internal and manufacturer requirements.

Job description

Salary: £11.85 - £21.10 per hour / £26,190.45 - £46,632.30 per annum, depending on level of experience

Hours: 42.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm

We are currently recruiting for a HGV Technician for a busy & well-established family run business.

• Repair vehicles (mainly HGV but there would also be light vehicles to work on too) and make routine maintenance checks to ensure that the vehicle is running as it should be.
• Perform diagnostic work on vehicles to resolve issues using relevant diagnostic equipment.
• Ensure vehicle servicing activities are completed in a safe and high-quality manner in line with both internal and manufacturer requirements.
• Good technical knowledge of a wide range of vehicles and a high level of attention to detail.
• Possess the ability to work well with customers, maintaining a patient and friendly attitude.

Requirements needed for the role:

• Minimum of 3 years of Vehicle Technician experience since being qualified
• Qualified to City and Guilds / NVQ Level 3
• Effective diagnostic skills
• A strong interest in motor vehicles
• A class 1 or 2 licence would be an advantage but not essential
• A solid interest and/or experience in vehicle diagnostics and electric/hybrid vehicles would be advantageous as we potentially see this role progressing within the field.
