Job summary

East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service seeks an Engineering Services Technician to maintain, repair and dispose of its 188-vehicle fleet and equipment from three workshops, including breathing apparatus.

You will hold a HGV driving licence, own suitable tools, live in East Sussex and be passionate about heavy vehicle repair; the role offers 37-hour weeks, 25 days holiday, a local government pension, and on-call standby arrangements.

Qualifications

• Must hold a HGV driving licence and own tools suitable for repair and maintenance of light and heavy vehicles.
• Experience in heavy motor vehicle repair and maintenance.
• Live within East Sussex.
• Enthusiastic with practical ability and passion for this industry.
• Willing to work 37 hours per week and be part of on-call rota.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and service ESFRS vehicle fleet and equipment.
• Work from Roedean workshop and mobile workshops after probation.
• Participate in on-call rota and standby duties.
• Contribute to safety and reliability of firefighting fleet.
• Assist with procurement and disposal processes for fleet assets.
