Job summary

Octane Recruitment is seeking an experienced HGV Technician for a leading fleet maintenance operation in Haywards Heath. The role involves servicing, inspecting and repairing a mixed fleet of HGVs and LCVs within a modern workshop.

You will diagnose engine, transmission, braking, suspension and electrical faults and perform preventative maintenance. A Full UK Driving Licence is required; HGV licence is beneficial but not essential. Overtime and ongoing training are available.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician (minimum 1 year preferred).
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Experience working on HGVs, refuse vehicles or commercial fleets would be advantageous.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• HGV Licence would be beneficial but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, inspections and repairs on a mixed fleet of HGVs and LCVs.
• Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, braking, suspension and electrical faults.
• Complete preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify and rectify complex faults.
• Complete all job cards and maintenance records accurately.
• Ensure vehicles are maintained to DVSA and company standards.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop environment.
• Keep up to date with the latest vehicle technology and repair techniques.

Hours – Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 3:00pm (40 hours per week)

Working on behalf of a major national organisation responsible for delivering essential environmental and public services, you\'ll be joining a well-equipped workshop maintaining a modern fleet of HGVs, refuse collection vehicles and light commercial vehicles.
