Job summary

QS Recruitment is seeking an experienced Class 1 HGV driver for depot-to-depot runs, Monday to Friday, based in the UK. Role involves regional and national runs in curtain-sided trailers; forklift loading/unloading is done by others; no manual handling required.

Pay is competitive at £18.50 per hour with up to 28 days annual leave; 55 hours per week; RTWTR applies. Closing date 2026-09-14.

Qualifications

• A valid UK Driving Licence with Category CE (Class 1) entitlement.
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• A valid Driver CPC Card.
• Minimum 12 months Class 1 driving experience.
• No more than 6 penalty points for minor motoring offences (insurance).
• No DR, DD, IN, CU or MS convictions.

Responsibilities

• Drive depot-to-depot on a Monday to Friday schedule.
• Operate regional and national runs in curtain-sided trailers.
• Forklift unloads performed by site staff; no manual handling required.
• Work approximately 55 hours per week; shifts typically 06:00–17:00.

Job Description

We’re recruiting for experienced Class 1 HGV drivers for straightforward depot to depot driving, on a Monday to Friday schedule.

This opportunity could see you driving regional and national runs in a curtain-sided trailer depending on the needs for the day. No manual handling required as all loads and unloads are completed by forklift.

Excellent rates available for the right candidate.

Duration: This is an ongoing temporary opportunity offering regular and consistent work.

Contract Type: Temporary

Hourly Rate: Pay: £18.50 per hour. You will also accrue up to 28 days annual leave.We do not accept sponsorship visas.Please note: We are unable to accept applications from candidates requiring visa sponsorship or those working under a Skilled Worker visa, including applicants subject to a maximum 20-hour working restriction.

Working Hours: Approximately 55 average weekly hours – Road Transport Working Time Regulations (RTWTR) applyWorking days for this role will be Monday to Friday. The working day for this role is generally 0600 – 1700.
